Back-to-school time usually means tons of cheap, bright modern designs from big box stores. Case in point, these lacquered wood stackable chairs from Target are just $70 for the pair.

The Wire Rack takes it’s queue from a simple household staple: the wire hanger. But what it lacks in complexity and creative product naming, it makes up for in style.

This Tradig bowl is the perfect way to ripen fruit. It’s also pretty easy on the eyes.

This You Stuff It Cargo Chair is a really cool idea that I think might quite literally be a pain in the butt. The simple wire frame is meant to be stuffed with whatever you need to get out of the way. A great idea, though it might be improved by adding an actually seat. I suspect that even those stuffed animals aren’t enough cushion and I dread to think of dropping my derriere onto the log version.

Turns out that for pets the lap of luxury isn’t a lap at all. It’s a pet sectional sofa as stylish as anything you’d find at West Elm. And don’t worry, the cushion covers are removable for easy washing.

West Elm’s Fall collection includes office furniture designed in collaboration with the Pratt Institute. The pieces have a clean, mid-century feel. I particularly like their wall-mounted office organizer. The cork board, picture shelf and pencil holder hang on the included wood rail.

I love the idea of a fold-out desk. I just don’t think it would accommodate the giant pile of papers that I call a filing system. I’ll be sticking with my giant desk. But, if you’re more organized than I and looking for a space-saving work space, this one is great because it’s just $199.

PB Teen does it again. I know this is a bean bag covered in fake fur ridiculously named the furalicious beanbag and that as an adult I should find it silly, but I actually think it’s very chic and kind of want one for myself. It would be perfect in a little reading nook. Oh, and don’t let the $70 price tag fool you into thinking it’s a steal. They charge another $129 for the insert. Ouch.

What a fantastic solution for indoor cats! It seems like you could also modify sturdy bracketed shelves for the same purpose by adding rubber matting or astroturf to the surface.

This is a lot more fun and less destructive to the woodwork than the average height chart. It tells you which iconical items, mythological creatures or objects familiar or bizarre you measure up to.
