    Striking a Cord

If you need to light a space without having to permanently install a fixture, hiding the cord has been a real problem. But, lately, I’ve noticed that designers are making lamps with cords that are meant to be seen. Above, Industrial Sconce, $49 at Urban Outfitters.

Articulating Lamp, $139 from Long Made Co.

Hanging Lamp, $69 from Chance Store.

    The Neighs Have It

I am a sucker for anything with a horse on it. Added bonus: this lamp’s elegant, mid-century styling. Double bonus: this is only $197 and, if you use code “PULPHOMESPLENDIDPICK!” before 3/3, you get 15% off.

    Get the Look: Vintage Spotlight

I really like the look of this vintage clip lamp in SF Girl By Bay’s cottage. While you can find vintage lamps like these at flea markets and on Etsy, Ikea has an inexpensive alternative.

    Fas Lamp, $10.

And CB2 has a larger, more expensive option. Carpenter Carbon Lamp, $70.

    Star Light, Star Bright

I’ll bite: I’m a sucker for all things “starry sky” – especially these Constellation Pendant Lamps (and, I confess, Star Trek). I ran across these on Pinterest and figured they’d be well out of my price range. There was no link for the pin (Don’t you hate that?), but I tracked them down and was pleased to find them reasonably priced at $121 each.

    DIY Globe Lamp

A neat DIY project if you can find an old glass globe lamp. Simply peel the map paper off and clean up the globe. Voila. A translation of the original Swedish instructions here.
