Perhaps it’s the ongoing drought here in Texas, but I find myself obsessed with watercolors. My favorites aren’t landscapes or portraits, but interpretations of familiar patters. These postcard sized watercolors of ikat patterns by Kristin Reger for Dublab chief among them.
Print by Judy Kaufman, $25.
I love the haphazard feel and bright colors. More art and an interview with Yago Hortal here.
The aptly titled print from Kari Herer Photography is just $30.
One of TV’s funniest moments immortalized in thread by Laura de Diaz. I wish I had the patience to learn embroidery.
I think Jillian Tamaki is my new favorite person. She is painstakingly recreating the covers of Penguin Classics (three of my favorites) in needlepoint. The covers are fully functional, too, with French flaps. I wish I had this kind of talent and patience.

Amazing and melancholy art by Robert Montgomery. See more here.
