    Picture Perfect

This photo of a painted house in Spain really blurs the line between art and reality. At first glance, I actually thought the whole this was a painting. This is just one of many gorgeous photos from Opart’s Etsy shop. Though, if you’re opposed to seeing non-graphic photos of dead birds being prepared for display at a museum, you may want to skip it.

    Who Needs Flowers?

With vases like these, you won’t ever have to buy flowers again. Of course, if you do, they’ll look even more beautiful. Etsy seller White Earth Studios also makes beautiful bowls, candlesticks and artwork.

    Happy Valentine’s Day

This is sort of an anti-Valentine’s Valentine, I suppose. But I do love this photo. Have a great Valentine’s weekend.

“Loneliness is Such a Waste of Time” print, $30

    Etsy Find: Hattie Albino

I really love Amber Alexander’s whimsical animal prints. I already own this one, but I’m thinking of adding Hattie to my collection as well.

    Mass Perfection

I think most people would agree that, in a perfect world, every piece of art we buy would be unique - one-of-a-kind. Of course, that’s just not affordable. I usually stick to Etsy, but every once in a while I find a mass-produced piece of art I really love. And that’s how I feel about this Empire State Building print from Target. I love the colors. They give it a really vintage feel. Plus, it’s already framed and just $20.

    Black and White

I don’t have a lot of photography in my home. Not only am I a terrible photographer (any photo I take is guaranteed to be blurry and prominently feature red-eye), I also wouldn’t consider myself much of a judge of other people’s photos. So I was very pleased to find this post from Shelterrific featuring two Etsy stores with beautiful black and white nature photos.

The top two photos are from Zoetrope, titled The Giant’s Causeway and The Dark Hedges ($8 each). The bottom two are from Rocky Top Studio, titled Periwinkle the Horse and Sheep With Back-up Singers ($24 each).

    Etsy Find

This print by Jenny Mendes reminds me of a children’s book illustration. I love the knowing look in the horse’s eye and the landscape that looks vaguely like a Victorian wallpaper.

    Art-choo

There’s finally a use for that tumbleweed of pet hair you keep finding under the bed. Well, there is if you’re Paul Hazelton. He makes sculptures out of the stuff. I just wonder how he keeps from sneezing them into oblivion.

    Don’t Cut the Cord

If you’ve ever rented an apartment you’ve probably run into this problem. You want to put your TV on one wall, but the cable jack is on the other. You either end up begging your landlord to move the jack (usually without success) or taping a 30ft white cord to your baseboards. Then some genius came up with the idea of turning that cord into art. If I weren’t 99% convinced I’d somehow trip over this, I might try to do it myself.
