I think this cake stand might make me extra self conscious about my cake decorating skills. Maybe I could ease into it with a stack of cookies instead. Fondant Marble Cake Stand, $128 at Anthropologie.
It’s summer in Texas which means I’ll do just about anything to avoid the heat. Including spending my morning staring at pictures of Iceland. This is a particular favorite (I know it’s a hot pool, but it looks cold) – Untitled (Blue Lagoon, Rekjavik, Iceland) by Carlo Van de Roer, $60 at 20×200.
Mesh-covered glass lamps have been catching my eye lately. Luckily, there are two affordable options out there right now. Above, the Talbert Glass Mesh Table Lamp from Pottery Barn, $200.
And the Ensnared Base Lamp from Anthropologie, $199.95.
Another gem from West Elm’s new catalog. Flag conversion tea towels, $9 each.
Etsy’s front page pointed me to Bella Luna’s shop where I fell in love with this moon globe (which sold as I was looking at it!). Lots of quirky, cool stuff in here.
An aqua lamp.
Vintage jumping shoes!
West Elm’s new catalog prominently features these intricate, ceramic place settings. They are part of a collaboration with South African artists at the Potter’s Workshop. It’s nice to see West Elm adding a little variety to their minimal aesthetic over the last few years. And nicer still that they are partnering with artists.
I am always inspired to see creative takes on embroidery. I certainly can’t draw, but I am a passable stitcher. So, hope remains alive that I might put together my own creation in this vein. This elegantly macabre piece is called Vulture and is available at Belljar.
