I recently picked up a pair of these Swiss Dot shams from West Elm. I have a big, hairy, sometimes muddy dog who cannot be convinced to stay off my bed. Thus, fancy white bedding (the Swiss Dot duvet cover is $139) isn’t going to fly. Instead, I started using simple $16 INDIRA white cotton coverlets from Ikea and pairing them with more expensive shams and throw pillows (the only part of the bed the dog stays away from) to add elegance and interest.  I just started layering on some white throw blankets for texture, as well, but I’m having trouble finding the perfect ones.
