I love this tray/glass storage box from Alessi. But at $150 it’s a bit out of my price range. It reminds me a bit of vintage wood packing crates. So, I headed to Etsy to see if I could find any alternatives. Here’s what I found:

This fantastic herringbone rug from Urban Outfitters looks so classic in navy. Just $74.

From designer Hiroshi Sasagawa (but not available for sale anywhere in the US that I could find), these whimsical animal dividers would be easy to reproduce with templates and some heavy card stock or lightweight plastic.

Chunks of faceted walnut and Edison bulbs combine to create a striking, modern light fixture. $950.

Fantastic metal Jayden Shelf Units from World Market starting at $80. These would be perfect in the kitchen or in your closet as roll-out storage for purses and accessories.

My best friend from Dallas is coming to visit this weekend and is a huge fan of all things S’mores. Last year, we made a S’mores cake for her birthday. I’m hoping to get home early this evening to whip up a batch of these S’mores brownies I found on one of her Pinterest boards. I think if there is an average weight gain in the U.S. in 2012 we can safely blame it on Pinterest. Find the simple (it’s made from a mix) and sinful recipe here.

Maybe it’s the spring fever talking, but I kind of want to hang a couple of these in my living room. Especially after seeing this amazing reading room in Mexico city in an issue of the late Readymade Magazine. And an indoor hammock would be the fulfillment of my childhood Swiss Family Robinson obsession, too.
