New Year’s Eve with a Twist

The French 77 is one of my personal favorites, and a nice twist on a traditional midnight champagne toast. And with only three ingredients, it’s simple to make as well. Recipe from St. Germain:

    Ingredients

1 oz. St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur (more St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur drinks)
1/4 oz. Lemon Juice (more Lemon Juice drinks)
    Champagne (more Champagne drinks)

    Instructions

Pour first two ingredients into a chilled champagne flute. Top with Champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.

    The Naked Truth

The new year is coming, a time we typically take another look at our lives in the cold hard light of winter. What better time to discover the beauty of lamps without shades. Simply add an unusual bulb for interest. I really think the plain bulb contrasts nicely with the ornate lamp bases. You can find unusual vintage bulbs here, among other places.

Merry Christmas to All, and to All a Good Night

One last project before I sign off for the holidays. I’ve seen several glitter animal projects this year, but this one from Sweet Paul is my favorite. I especially like the glittery antlers. I doubt I’ll have time to get to them this year. There’s a lot of cooking to be done. And on that note, I’m signing off until next week. Happy holidays!

    Squeeeee!

This scarf is so cute I can barely stand it. Sadly, ModCloth seems to be totally sold out.Our pups will have to put it on their list for next year.
