These landscapes by Erin Spencer are relatively tiny (most are 8″x8″ or smaller), but they pack a lot of pretty. I found these via someone’s blog, but have completely forgotten which one. My apologies for the missing credit. I’ll update if I figure it out.

Telephone poles have to be one of civilization’s ugliest fixtures. But at Crate and Barrel, they are being reborn as eye-catching, rustic work tables. The Phoenix ($1,500) is made from reclaimed poles, and turns their gouges, drill holes, knots and imperfections into things of beauty.

These ghost plaques are a cute idea for a Halloween project for the kiddos. Just purchase a few wood plaques from a craft store, add white paint and spooky eyes, and voila.

As my obsession with vintage horse decor has progressed, I asked my mom to dig out a box of my old show ribbons. They aren’t quite as vintage as the ones pictured above. And they aren’t quite as charming. Luckily, I found an old Design Sponge DIY post on making your own horse show ribbons. The homemade kind definitely capture that vintage feel.

If you’re looking for bang for the buck, it’s hard to beat these stunning black and white posters from Debbie Carlos. They’re just $50 a piece. The sophisticated subject matter is about a zillion steps up from the stuff you hung on your dorm room walls. Against a colored wall or in an brightly colored ornate frame, they are the perfect focal point.
