It’s official. Summer is here - kicking off with a fantastic, much needed three-day weekend. And of course, every three-day weekend needs a tall glass of lemonade. I’m thinking of trying this very grown-up recipe from Eat Make Read.

Subtle Summer
makes 1 cocktail

2 oz sake
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
2 slices cucumber, plus more for garnish

Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker along with two ice cubes. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds.

Strain into a lowball glass and garnish with thinly sliced cucumbers. Cheers!

I am absolutely in love with the photography of Billy und Hells. From Rossetti homages to cowboys, it’s all amazing, decadent and enchanting. Alas, our love is not meant to be. The few prints I can find available for sale are around 2500 Euros each. Time to buy a few scratch tickets and hope for a lottery win.

This cutter isn’t designed for your girly Margarita pizza. This baby is tough enough for a triple pepperoni and anchovy. I just don’t think I am.

I can’t help but giggle at this. Even the pillows are wise guys these days.

I heard about this Vita-mix mixer on last weekend’s episode of the Splendid Table and immediately wanted one. They implied it could literally blend concrete. And for $500 (marked down from $700) it had better. I admit that my blender motor started smoking last week while I was blending cooked tomatoes, but I could buy 10 new ones for this price.

I have some chairs I’d like to reupholster, but I cannot find one fabric store with Ikat prints in stock. So frustrating! However, my obsessive searching has turned up some really cool results.
