I tried in vain to find a recipe for this beautiful pumpkin cake from Dean and Deluca. I seriously doubt that I could get mine to look this good, but it’s vanilla spice cake with praline buttercream and fudge filling coated in white chocolate. I could eat that without the fancy Halloween shape. If you really, really want one and have $120 lying around, they ship overnight.
These handblown glasses are created around pieces of vintage silverware. Incredibly interesting. And incredibly expensive.
Champagne glass (above), $228
Red wine glass, $228
Sometimes the choices offered in the picture frame isle can be a little dull. And, of course, custom framing can be really, really expensive. They use a pH neutral adhesive to attaching the images to maple or bamboo plywood boards. The best part? - they’ll do it for you starting at just $21 for a 4″x4″.
These Noir Vases from CB2 have two silver linings. In addition to the obvious, they are just $22 a piece.
I always like a light with a sense a humor. Hopefully they don’t require batteries.
Flashlight lamps, $42 each.
Never be lost in the dark again thanks to this LED doorknob.
If you’re looking for some inspiration for rainy-day crafting, this is the perfect blog for you. P.S. - I Made This features easy DIY projects, like the faux porcelain vases above (they’re made with puff paint). It also has a lot of fun, easy DIY fashion.
I have one of those big under-the-stairs closets you find in old first floor apartments. It’s almost like a little room. Lately, I’ve taken to hanging up magazine photos of outfits I like as an inspiration for picking out an outfit in the morning. They look a little disorganized just taped up on the walls. So, I’m thinking of ordering a few of these pin-up frames I saw on Swiss Miss this morning. They’re cute and they’ll make it easy to switch the photos out as I find new favorites.
I’ve been out of town for about three weeks, which means that even though Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, I’ve had zero time to think about a costume, much less put one together. So, I went on a search for some last minute ideas.
Let’s face it, I’m not going to pull-off anything complicated in two weeks. And if you’re busy pulling together costumes for kids, boatloads of candy and decor for your home, you probably don’t either. Luckily, Martha Stewart has a solution. Doesn’t she always? So, here are some cool, creepy last-second ideas for adult costumes that won’t take a nervous breakdown to get done.
