    Spicy

When I saw this on the Ikea site, I thought it was a Moroccan-style candlestick. It’s actually a spice mill. I didn’t know what the difference was between a spice mill and a pepper mill, but apparently a harder grinding surface is required for spices. This mill has a grinder made of porcelain.

    No Basket Required

Now that fall is on it’s way, picnics are few and far between. Gone are the gingham blankets and breezy, sunny days. But these plaid dishes can brighten any table - even on a dreary day. The pattern, called Grandma, makes me think of lemonade and finger sandwiches.

    Cleaned Up

The shower is where we go to get clean. But, if you have an older bathroom, your shower is unlikely to offer many options for organizing all the soaps, shampoos, etc. you need to accomplish your goal. You can get a shower caddy, but they tend to look as messy as leaving everything out on the bathtub floor. But this little gadget is actually quite stylish. It holds your small, oddly shaped necessities with ease and keeps water from collecting around them. Genius.

    Cut and Paste

What an elegant solution to an everyday problem. The Cut and Paste chopping board is designed to catch stray carrot slices as well as act as a transfer dish from board to pan.

    Identity Crisis

I can’t imagine this shower caddy from Urban Outfitters as an actual shower caddy. It just seems totally out of place when I think of it being blasted with water. And how am I supposed to hang it on my tile anyways? I saw this caddy and instantly thought of the kitchen. It would be perfect for storing your most-used spices, olive oils or even jars of kitchen utensils.

    A Round of Applause

A pair of these would be the perfect combination of the elements. A cool, metalic lamp on one side. And a warm, wood lamp on the other.

    Penny for your Thoughts

Anthropologie has a fantastic new collection of room accessories inspired by vintage scientific tools like flasks and beakers. While this is technically a Penny Candy Jar, it’s metal stand has that same vintage-lab appeal. Unfortunately, this penny jar will cost you a pretty penny or two.  9800 pennies, to be exact.

    Run of the Mill

I love to cook with fresh herbs, but getting them chopped always results is a huge mess for me. I can never get the leaves positioned correctly and bits of green end up all over the kitchen floor.

I’ve also tried using a mortar and pestle, but that results in a lot of tedious hand-dish-washing. So I’m excited to try this Herb Mill from Target’s Gourmet Kitchen Shop. As a bonus, it manages to chop the leaves with out bruising them, which is certainly more than I can say for my knife technique.

    Move Over, Casper

This ghost could be the cutest Halloween decoration ever. Even though it’s not meant as one.
