    Apollo Landing

I have to be honest, the Apollo just does not look like a coffee table. It looks like a futuristic serving tray that would be the size of a cutting board and sit on the counter top. In reality, it’s 32″x21″28″. The double-decker storage space is certainly appealing – plenty of room for coffee, magazines, unopened mail, car keys, remotes and errant glasses of water leftover from three nights ago – and I like the airplane drink-cart vibe. No, seriously.

    Great Bookshelf On Craftgrrrl

This is what I’m digging today: a bookshelf that mystic_knight made on craftgrrl on Livejournal. That’s a bit of nice inspiration.

    Perfectly Girly Mirror

This mirror reminds me of something you’d find in a 1920s powder room. It’s surprisingly sophisticated, considering it’s from PB Teen, and only $149.

    Karlstad Chaise Lounge

I think Ikea is a fantastic place for cheap home goods – the occasional work lamp, mixing bowls, photo frames, maybe an end table or kitchen stool – but I usually don’t find their big furniture items appealing. They’re inexpensive, but not much more so than West Elm or CB2. I’ve found cheaper sofas at Macy’s. But, I like this Karlstad Lounge. Even with the $349 pricetag, it seems like good design bang-for-the-buck.

    Crates Get A Lift

These recycled wine crates make the best bookshelves. The elegant paper makes the perfect backdrop for books and collectibles. The instructions don’t sound too complicated – just some measuring cutting and gluing. And, best of all, you can get the crates for free at most liquor stores. Get the complete instructions here.

    The Upgraded Milk Crate

I remember having all my toys stacked in milk crates in my childhood closet. They were simple, but less than sophisticated. But, perhaps Urban Outfitters’ grown-up version could make the scene in your living room filled with records, magazines, books, or even as a end table?

It’s made from wood and features a Trompe L’Oeil image of the classic milk crate – complete with warning label.

    Veggie Drawers

You don’t have to grow your own produce to use one of these fantastically rustic vegetable racks. They’ve been designed to fit on a typical kitchen counter or in a larder (which is something homes in Texas usually don’t have). The big benefit of these drawers is the slatted bottoms, which allow air to circulate around the produce. But, even if you’re not a fan of veggies, these drawers would be a great place to store gardening tools, wine, or even kitchen tools.

    Well Hello, Sailor

Here’s a great way to add a seaside cottage feel to any home. This whimsical anchor rug is from Jonathan Adler and can be custom made in any size for $30 a square foot. Oh, and you can do custom color combinations as well.
