    Art on the Cheap

I’ve been debating what to do with all the empty wall space in my apartment. I have a lot of great art, but getting it framed is quite the financial burden. Which is why I love this idea posted on Design*Sponge.

The clipboards are a cheap ($1.79 each at Staples), flexible way to display art, especially if you like to change your style often.

I’ve also been contemplating this inexpensive bookshelf project from last month’s ReadyMade. I think a great collection of books can have as much visual impact as a painting or print.

ReadyMade took simple “L” brackets from the hardware store and installed them upside down to form invisible shelving for their book collection. I believe the total cost was around $10. Now, if only my reading selections were so beautifully color coordinated.
