    Mad About Mushrooms

I’ve been seeing a lot of really cool decorative mushrooms lately. From Target to Etsy, they’re popping up everywhere (see, I made a fungus joke).

If you’re looking for an overview of some of the really spectacular specimens, check out this post from A Mad Tea Party With Alis.

    Market Jars

West Elm has some new sale items up, which include these ceramic Market Jars ($20-$35).

I think they’d look great in the kitchen. Maybe sitting on open shelves against a chalkboard wall like this.

    She’s a…Wall Shelf.

This lady isn’t built like a brick house, but she is quite lovely and holds up to 10lbs of books, knick-knacks, or whatever.

    Aphrodite Shelf, $54

I used to absolutely love Rocko’s Modern Life. Here’s a classic from it:

    Summer Melamine at Target

Yesterday, I made my monthly trip to Target. Why so infrequent? Because Target really knows how to convince me unplanned purchases are a great idea.

This time, I resisted the urge, but I have to post the summery Melamine dinnerware that almost got me off-task.

Melamine Appetizer Plates, $23.99 for 12

    Whitewash Dragonfly Dinnerware, $12.99-$31.99

    Cat Teapots = Love

I don’t even drink tea, but I am always finding cute teapots that I love. There’s just something precious, but in a good way, about teapots. The pictured cat teapot is what I’m digging right now. It’s for sale right here at the TeapotShoppe.com.

    Trashy

I’ve always hated having an ugly trashcan sitting out in plain sight. But when you have a small kitchen, what else can you do?

Fortunately, someone has realized that a trashcan doesn’t have to look like, well, a trashcan. In slightly less fortunate news, the Greenhouse is just a concept, not an actual product.

    Summer Chairs from Ikea

Ikea has their new outdoor collection posted and they have some great, inexpensive options for patio seating.

I particularly like the Vano Easy Chair, which is really fun in cherry red ($49.99)

And the Brommo is also pretty slick if you’re looking for something a little more subtle ($59.99).

    Patio Furniture on the Cheap

My brother sent me a link to a great blog called ModFrugal. As a tightwad, I absolutely love the idea, and this fabulous idea for outdoor furniture.

ModFabulous found this amazing-looking table at Home Depot. No, not with the patio furniture. It’s a hot water heater stand.

The one pictured here is 4 years old and looks amazing.

    And it’s just $19.99.
