    Paper Planes

When I make paper airplanes, they tend to end up as flightless triangles. In spite of my engineering failures, I can’t help but associate a flying sheet of paper with that wonderful moment when the teacher stepped out of the classroom and everyone went wild.

I think that’s what I like about these Paper Plane wall graphics. The come with a set of dashes so that you can create your own flight path.

If only my office had actual walls, I’d have them up in a second.

    Stacks of Fun

    I don’t have much to

say about the Pretend Pile of Books stool other than it’s pretty awesome. That’s because the entire site is written in French, which I don’t speak.

However, it appears to be a simple wood storage stool with a printed or applied photo-realistic book design and looks amazing.

    Cave Selling

Considering the week I’ve had at work, I’d rather be hiding in a cave. Even if it’s damp, dark, creepy and a little bit smelly.

But, the owners of this house don’t have to put up with bats and spiders. They can hide out in style in this gorgeous modern home built directly into the cliff wall.

Oh, did I mention it could be yours right now if you’d care to make a bid right now on eBay?

    Summer Dreaming

    Picture 2

Once summer rolls around, I'll be moaning about the 100+ degree heat. But in February, I wax poetic about mild summer nights on the patio.

While I'm shivering on my way to work in the mornings, I like to imagine that when warm weather rolls around, I'll have a few friends over, make homemade lemonade and a oodles of tapas to enjoy outdoors.

Of course, here in Texas, we have those pleasant summer evenings in March and April. So I may have to rush over to West Elm to pick up one of these amazing Medina Stands with a hand-hammered tray sometime today.

    Umbra Loft at Target

    41M25CtNj8L._AA260_
I was at Target over the weekend buying things that I need, like paper towels, when I "accidentally" wandered into the home goods section.

I'm happy that I did, because I discovered their new Umbra Loft collection.

The first items to catch my eye were these square glass vases featuring pixelated images of traditional crystal vases, which have a great sense of humor.

I had to rush back home and didn't get to check out any other items in-store. But today, I perused the entire collection at Target.com and was truly impressed by the combination of modern simplicity with traditional design.

    The Nomadic Life

    Orchard1
One of my favorite things to do is peek into a lifestyle that I would normally never consider for myself, but still consider to be a neat idea. Into The Hermitage is just one of those really incredible looks into the lifestyle of a modern day nomad. You must go check it out if for no other reason than to see one of the most beautiful blog templates I have seen in a long, long time. But the writing and stories will keep you there, I promise.

    Every Rose…

As the owner of two very large dogs, I'm a huge fan of Flor. Because if my white bedspread were made of replaceable tiles, it would not be partially decorated with muddy dog prints right now.

And as a bonus to the complete practicality, Flor's carpet tiles are actually quite stylish.

I particularly like this quirky take on an old fashioned rose pattern. A six-tile rug is currently on sale for just $125.

    Teeny Tiny Paper Cuts

2698611633_77a2537a6f These delicate paper cuts from artist Aoyama Hina are absolutely beautiful.

    3236597915_e81ff1bb12
I would love to see them pinned in a shadow-box frame like paper butterflies made of poetry.

See more of Hina's work here.
