    R.I.P. Domino

    Custom_1233164461932_domino
Domino Magazine has officially gone under.

I can't believe it. It's probably the most popular shelter magazine out there.

“This decision to cease publication of the magazine and its website is
driven entirely by the economy,” Mr. Townsend said. “Although
readership and advertising response was encouraging in the early years,
we have concluded that this economic market will not support our
    business expectations.”

    The Rat in the Hat

I'm a sucker for all things anthropomorphic. Thus, I can't help but post these adorable be-hatted beasties from Poor Dog Farm.

    Il_430xN.54742156The tiny 2"x5" artist-signed prints are just $5 a pop.

    Upcycle Old Photos!

    Justanotherpixie photo tute
My guess is that we all have photos laying around that we hate, were taken accidentally, were blurry, or otherwise aren't good. So, why let them lay around? Use this tutorial to upcycle them to something else.

What you could do with these is really quite limitless. You could turn them into greeting cards, or book covers, or you could frame them. Who knows where your imagination will go? Thanks to Pixie for the tutorial.

    Aquarium Phone Booth

    Aquarium_phone_booth02
Artists Benoit Deseille and Benedetto Bufalino transformed this phone booth in Lyon, France into an aquarium.

What a bizarre but wonderful sight this must be. Especially if you really, really need to make a call. Which let's hope no one tries to do.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: $200 Rug Vs. $87,000 Rug

Plaza Rugs Jasmine Collection Black & White Geometric CirclesThis, my friends, is a picture of my $200 rug. Sadly, we don't get to see a picture of Merrill Lynch CEO's $87,000 rug. If you're buying a rug that costs that much while your company's going under, that had better be one heck of a rug.

    Restickable Photo Frames

    Picture 2
I've seen a few examples of photo-frame decals, but this is the first version to declare itself "re-stickalble".

The package of 8 designs sells for just $20 and the photo openings range from 4"x4" to 8"x10".

    ‘Applied’ Collection from KleinReid

    Appliedbykrinsitulib
Here is a peek at the new KleinReid 'Applied' collection of lidded bowls, vases, catch-alls and design 'objet'.

I'm particularly fond of the porcelain keys and book bookends. The keys might be really pretty hanging on the wall or even in a grouping hung from the ceiling.

They'll all be on display at this NY gift fair and range in price from $25-$130.

Love stairs? Yeah, me too. I had no idea, however, that there was a blog devoted entirely to stairs. It's called, naturally, StairPorn, and it's fabulous. Go check it out for yourself- there are some really amazing stairs on there!
