This weekend my uncle called and said, "It’s a night of transcendent beauty tonight in Minneapolis, I wish you were here to see the white snow on the black trees with the full moon." I told him to take a picture of it and send it to me.
He told me he didn’t think he could capture the mood the night evoked on film. I told him I could never quite get my pictures to capture what I saw in my mind’s eye.
Some people have it, some people don’t. I keep finding amazing photographers, and it always makes my heart sing when they can capture what I do see in my mind’s eye. They capture a moment or an emotion or the night of transcendent beauty that my uncle was talking about.
A photographer that has just caught my eye is Barbra Ziemer over at Etsy. What I’m loving about her is that she seems to catch emotion in every photo. Whether it’s loneliness or strength or hope, each picture carries a feeling. Barb is definitely a "mind’s eye" photographer in my opinion. Go over and check her out!
