I think these vinyl cut-outs from Ideia & Companhia are kitschy and fabulous. But I can’t help but think that somewhere, record collectors are crying.
These pieces were designed by Carol Furlan and her partner. They were inspired to stop by a used record store after seeing bowls made from molded records.
The records were selected for their label color and the designs were cut using a laser knife.
If you’re interested in purchasing a piece, contact them via their web site.

These are great. I saw something similar the other day of these great coasters made out of old floppy disks. Collectors may be upset but there are a lot of old records out there that deserve to be reborn as something better.

Uh, I’m not crying, I am actually amazed at the concepts people invent and utilize old, worn out records. Better this than a landfill I say, it helps to keep the culture alive and are great conversation pieces!
