As a total Halloween junkie, I can’t resist posting a few tidbits of ghoulish inspiration now that it’s officially haunting season.
And as always, Martha Stewart is adding a little elegance to darkest corners of holiday decorating. Her site is full of amazing DIY Halloween decor.
Here are a few of my favorites from Martha:
Black Magic pumpkin carving. Simply coat the pumpkin in black floral spray before adding a carved design.
Spooky silhouette designs made by carving the pumpkin like a linoleum tile.
Silhouette curtains made from bed sheets and paint (I’ve also cut silhouettes out of black weed barrier and glued it to the sheet).
Candy Jar treats. The label templates are available for download here.
Anything under glass. Everyday things become mad-scientist specimens when placed under glass. I grab the glass domes from my cheese plates and the footless wall vases from around the house and re-purpose them for Halloween displays.
