    Cabin Chic

Zarahomeshot2_1Recently, a collection of trends seem to be naturally intertwining into a mod update of the summer camp cabin. Between the naturalist trend, the faux bois trend, elegant natural wood finishes, and all those faux deer heads, lake-houses have never been so sophisticated. The outdoors has even come indoors in very modern interiors like the one by Zara Home (shown left) that was posted to Silk Felt Soil. Here are a few resources that might help inspire your own Cabin Chic make-over:

    THE NATURALIST TREND:
The definitive 411 on all-things Naturalism from Decor8.
    Moss rocks from Z Gallerie.
    Dandelion Botanical Chart from Anthropologie.

    FAUX BOIS:
A Smattering of the faux stuff from Creature Comforts.
Pieces for sale at Crate & Barrel and Z Gallerie.
    Faux Bois pillows from Gump’s.
Gorgeous concrete outdoor furniture from Carlos Cortes.
(K)not Wood, an entire blog in honor of the stuff.

A MODERN TAKE ON NATURAL WOOD FINISH:
The Barringer end table at Z Gallerie.
Amy Ruppel’s wood paneling at Design*Sponge.
The Big Sur Buffet at Crate & Barrel.
The Million Rings side table from Anthropologie.

    A LITTLE FAUX FUR:
Roost’s carved wood deer heads and antler coat rack at Velocity Art and Design.
The antler table lamp from West Elm.

A FEW QUIRKY BUT TRADITIONAL TOUCHES:
Cuckoo clocks: both revamped and totally traditional.
    The Grier mirror from Anthropologie.
    The Astrid chair from Anthropologie.
Some interesting takes on crochet, cross-stitching, and appliqué from Rice, via the Style-Files.
