To faux or not to faux that is the question?

So what exactly should I faux paint?  There are many options when it comes to faux finishing your home. It seems that this type of decor is not limited to just walls and ceilings.  We found gorgeous faux finishes on fireplace mantles, columns, concrete floors, and furniture.

I was recently at a home and was blown away by the fact that they had faux painted the entire concrete floor of their basement.  It was truly fascinating.  Not only did it create a warm European feel, but elegance with durability made this a great choice for a high traffic area without compromising the feeling of richness.
Believe it or not, it was also relatively inexpensive compared to the cost of floor coverings for the same area.
